Troubleshooting WF_DEFERRED Agent Listeners Performance (Doc ID 468650.1)

Purpose

To give some guidelines on dealing with Workflow Agent Listeners performance in WF_DEFERRED queue.

This note assumes that the agent listeners are in RUNNING mode and events are in READY state but processing is either slow or not happening at all.

If Agent Listeners are not coming up at all, then please see <Note 469009.1> which gives guidelines on how to troubleshoot this.

 Workflow Deferred Agent
 1) Take a snapshot of events in WF_DEFERRED at the beginning of troubleshooting
 
2) Restart the Workflow Agent Listener Service
 
3) Create additional generic agent listeners for WF_DEFERRED agent.
 4) Create specific agent listeners for each of the correlation in READY mode
 
5) Run the problematic events listener from SQLPlus with trace enabled:
 
6) Change retention time for WF_DEFERRED to 0
