Cannot Find The Descriptive Flexfield After Creating Customer In R12

Symptoms
On R12 in Production:
When attempting to review the Customer Information Descriptive Flexfield (DFF), the following error
occurs.
ERROR
No Descriptive Appears on the Customers UI
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
Expect to see the descriptive flexfield
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to Responsibility: Receivables
2. Navigation: to Setup > Financials > Flexfields > Descriptive > Segments
3. Query and set the 'Customer Information' DFF
4. Go to customer form
5. Create a new customer in R12.
6. the DFF can be selected.
7. Save the new customer.
8. Query it again and go to customer account level. It is found the above DFF field disappears.
