Symptoms

On 12.X.X

You find when running the SLA upgrade process, the time to complete is taking over 72 hours.
In the effort to reduce this unacceptable time frame the data upgrade date is being set to Sept
07 to shorten time used in the upgrade. When this date is used, the process is run and the default date returns to the start of the fiscal year.

The details can be viewed in the XLA_AE_LINES table
Customer explains the following as well:
Sept 07 is the LAST month of the previous fiscal year. The fiscal year runs from
01-OCT-2015 to 30-SEP-2016

The current fiscal year is still open

The reason for the need to have a shorter data time period:
You cannot upgrade the entire previous fiscal because it takes too much time.

Explained that the SLA upgrade process will upgrade the current fiscal year. The users need
to have the option of using a shorter time frame for the data that is included in the upgrade process.

The following shows the default of the twelve months for data in the upgrade process:
-------------
select min(start_date)
from apps.gl_period_statuses a
, apps.fnd_application b
where a.migration_status_code = 'P'
and a.application_id = b.application_id

01-SEP-16

During the upgrade:

select min(start_date)
from apps.gl_period_statuses a
, apps.fnd_application b
where a.migration_status_code = 'P'
and a.application_id = b.application_id 2 3 4 5 ;

01-OCT-15

It seems that during the upgrade, the date was reverted back to default.
