Unable To Create Item After Changing The Preferences Number Format

In PLM, logged in with language 'German'.
Change the number format from "10,000.00" to "10.000,00" in General Preferences and saved this setting.
Tried to create an item using the template "Purchased item" continued with the item creation.
In the last step unable to save the item, it says 'error'.
When changing the profile back in the preferences everything works as expected. Was able to save
an item created with the same profile Purchased item template.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Change the number format from "10,000.00" to "10.000,00" in General Preferences and saved this setting
2. Go to Item Catalog - Create production item (one time with standard preferences / one time
with the above described changes in the preferences [number format])
