Terminating an Employee, Errors: APP-PAY-07207: The Mandatory Argument OBJECT_VERSION_NUMBER Value Cannot be NULL (Doc ID 552999.1)

Symptoms

When terminating some employees, the following occurs:

APP-PAY-07207: The mandatory argument object_version_number value cannot be null.

Cause: The mandatory argument object_version_number has either not been specified or has been explicitly set to null in the API pay_ele_shd.lck.


Steps to Reproduce
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

     1. Using HRMS responsibility

     2. Navigate to People > Enter and Maintain > People screen > Other > End Employment > Termination screen

     3. Enter Reason and Termination dates > click Terminate

     4. Receive error message

Cause
 Cause 1:  Invalid / incorrect data in PAY_ELEMENT_ENTRIES_F.  Rows in this table should never have NULL values in column OBJECT_VERSION_NUMBER
 Cause 2:   Employees who had spouses who were retired did not have a "BEN_DERIVED" record created.
