HOW TO set the date time-stamp to the client timezone when the server SYSDATE is in a different timezone?
Background / Example
"The crux of the issue is being summer, timings are pushed 2 hours ahead in Brazil, like US for daylight savings. We need to know how we can make the timings in oracle
reflect the new time i.e 2 hrs pushed forward.
As per my understanding the server is in Denver, U.S in MTS zone. However user preferences are set to GMT - 3.00 Sao Paolo. This selects Brazil time in all transactions as per the user preference. However as Brazil time has been pushed 2 hrs ahead please clarify what needs to be done so that the new summer timing s are reflected over this daylight savings period.
