Several Submissions of Timecard Before Manager Approval Generates Error (Doc ID 556245.1)

Symptoms

When submitting an OTL timecard multiple times before a Manager has approved it, the Manager receives multiple approval notifications for the "same" timecard. Approval of the "same" timecard the Approval workflow (HXCEMP) goes in error, with message:

Name: Update Application Period
Internal Name: UPDATE_APP_PERIOD
Type: Function
Default Activity Result: "#NORESULT"
Function: hxc_approval_wf_pkg.update_app_period


Another symptom of this issue is experiencing the Workflow notification : Error in Workflow HXCEMP/ ORA-0000: normal, successful completion.
