Non-Shippable Bom Item Stuck At "Awaiting Fulfillment" (Doc ID 558311.1)

Last updated on APRIL 04, 2025

Oracle Order Management - Version 11.5.10.0 to 11.5.10.3 [Release 11.5.10]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

I have placed an order for a BOM order.
1. IF the parent item is shippable
THEN it will ship and invoice without the child line being received. This is the desired result.

2. IF The Item is a non-shippable item with a "child" component of a drop ship item.
THEN when place the order, book it and run workflow,
the "parent" line has a status of "Awaiting Fulfillment"
and the "child" component line says "Awaiting Receipt".

If  receive the child line it closes and the parent closes as well. So it appears there is an
inherent fulfillment set. Cannot see a fulfillment set on the order it just appears to have that functionality.

How can the user get the parent line of a non-shippable item to invoice and close without receiving the
child line (drop ship item)?

How can one remove the inherent fulfillment set?
