Receiving Unexpected Error in Self Service Benefits (Doc ID 559458.1)

Goal

When attempting to update benefit enrollments in Self-Service, the following error occurs:

Exception Details.
oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException:
oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException: JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation.

java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01427: single-row subquery returns more than one row


Steps to Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Go to responsibility Employee Self-Service and select the Benefits function.
2. Continue to the Update Benefits page and attempt to make benefit election changes.
Error occurs.

The person had one contact with both a Spouse Relationship Type and an Emergency Contact type.
