Rapid Install Of R12 Errors With "Version Conflicts Utility Failed" (Doc ID 559806.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to install the R12 on  APPS Tier with rapidwiz it is failing with errors when running
autoconfig. This results in the Post install check to all fail.

DB tier node installs and completes without error.
Application node has the problem.

Using Rapidwiz 12.0.0.23


ERROR
adconfig.log shows:


Starting AutoConfig at Sun Dec 2 18:30:48 2007
Using adconfig.pl version 120.16

Script execution phase specified: INSTE8_SETUP
Classpath :
/u01/oracle/apps/viz12/comn/java/lib/appsborg2.zip:/u01/oracle/apps/viz12/apps/apps_st/comn/java/classes
ERROR: Version Conflicts utility failed.
Terminate.

The logfile for this session is located at:
/u01/oracle/apps/viz12/inst/apps/VIZ12_viz12/admin/log/12021830/adconfig.log

STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Run rapidwiz on DB tier
2. Run rapidwiz on APPS Tier, and change the default directory locations when asked.
