This document is intended to help Oracle Transportation Management, ( OTM ) Superusers and Administrators limit user access to Administrative functions within the system when Custom User Levels are being used.
Background: Users are allowed to do specific actions in OTM based off of the User Role they are assigned. The User Role is associated with a User Level that specifies the functions that can be done within the system. These functions control the users ability to view and edit specific business objects, like Agents, Appointments, Orders, Schedules, Shipments and a variety of other objects used within OTM.
One of the functions that can be defined is called Administration. This function is what allows user to access many of the Administrative functions in the system including the Manage User screen. This screen is used to change passwords, user roles, account policy, invoice approval amounts and other information specific to the user. We recommend access to this screen be restricted to only OTM System Administrators and Superusers.
