A major, recurring problem in the Apache error_log, especially common on Solaris 9 and 10, is the following warning message:
[warn] (22)Invalid argument: setsockopt: (TCP_NODELAY)
This warning can generally be ignored if it happens only sporadically, but in some customer cases the warning is repeated so often that it fills the error_log and therefore MUST be dealt with.
For example, in one case this repeating error message accounted for 77% of the lines in the error_log and was therefore too voluminous to simply ignore.
grep TCP_NODELAY error_log | wc -l
79,142 (lines containing this warning)
cat error_log | wc -l
103,279 (total lines)
httpd.conf - LogLevel at warn or higher verbosity
