Last updated on SEPTEMBER 08, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Operational Planning - Version: 5.5.03.04
This problem can occur on any platform.

Symptoms

-- Problem Statement:

When an order is in one domain and the shipment planned is created in another domain the resulting
shipment does not refer to any Equipment Reference Units, which are configured.

TEST CASE
------------------

CONFIGURING THE 3 DOMAINS AND SETTING GRANTS:

LEE - Domain used to date, containing all the base data.

LEE2 - Sibling domain where planning is carried out.

LEE3 - Sibling domain only containing the order.

Logged into Domain LEE

Navigated to: Configuration and Administration > Domain management > Domain Grants.
In the Make New Grants set to 'Read' and Domain LEE3 and selected ALL_TS.
Clicked Confirm.
In the Make New Grants set to 'Read' and Domain LEE2 and selected ALL_TS.
Clicked Confirm.
Logged off OTM.
This is so the other domains can read the base data.

Logged into Domain LEE3

Navigated to: Configuration and Administration > Domain management > Domain Grants.
In the Make New Grants set to 'Read & Write' and Domain LEE2 and selected ALL_TS.
Clicked Confirm.
Logged off OTM.
This is so the planning domain LEE2 and read and update the order.

ADDED PLANNING PARAMETER TO THE PLANNING DOMAIN (LEE2):

Logged into Domain LEE2.

Created a Planning Parameter Set in LEE2 with the same parameters as in LEE but with a different ID.
Navigated to: Transportation Planning and Execution > Power Data > Planning > Planning Parameter Sets.
Clicked 'NEW'
Set:
ID = LJS_ERU_LEE2
AUTO CALC WEIGHT VOLUME = true
CHECK EQUIPMENT CAPACITY IN REFERENCE UNITS = true
CONTAINER OPT CONFIG ID = LJS_ERU_CONOPT (existing in the LEE domain)
LOAD CONFIG ENGINE TYPE = PATTERN BASED OPTIMIZE
LOAD CONFIG VOLUME THRESHOLD = 10
Clicked Finished.

PLANNING THE ORDER WITH ERUs:

Note:
The configuration (in domain LEE) limits the equipment to carry 2 Equipment Reference Units with the ID of ERU. Every Order used in this test is set to have 3 ERU and should be planned onto 2 shipments.

Still logged into domain LEE2 planned Order Release LEE3.6748524_4D.
Navigated to Order Management > Order Release > Order Release and searched for 6748524_4D
Selected the Order and Bulk Planned using Parameter Set LJS_ERU_LEE2
Actions > Create Buy Shipment > Bulk Plan - Buy, set Parameter Set ID = LJS_ERU_LEE2.
Clicked 'OK'.

The result was 1 shipment (01001) was created.
Viewed the shipment.
Expanded the Shipment Equipment Section.
The field 'TOTAL NUMBER OF REFERENCE UNITS' is blank.
The field 'EQUIPMENT REFERENCE UNIT ID is blank.

When working across Domains the ERU logic is not used.

Logged off OTM.

CHECK THE CONFIGURATION IN THE LEE DOMAIN USES ERUs CORRECTLY:

Logged on to OTM LEE domain

Located Order 6748524_4E which is identical to the order used above.
Planned Order Release 6748524_4E using Planning Parameter LJS_ERU_LEE2
2 Shipments were built respecting the ERU limit.

CONCLUSION:
ERU functionality works when contained in one domain.
When crossing several domains ERU is not used.

NOTE: The steps above are meant to be used when Equipment Reference Units have already been configured.
