Actions

Dock Door Synch Overview

A new Dock Door Synch program is available from EBS. This will create all locations that have dock doors along with generating the dock doors. This is a batch load of these locations into Oracle Transportation Management.

Users will create dock door appointments in Oracle Transportation Management. Upon creation/modification/removal of an appointment a shipment update is sent to EBS, the appointment details are available at the Shipment Stop level. Updates to these appointments only happen in Oracle Transportation Management, changes to these appointment details will not be permitted in EBS. All modifications to the appointments are expected to take place in Oracle Transportation Management and sent via the PlannedShipmentXML to EBS. This integration is available with version 12.1 of EBS WMS.

Setup for Dock Door in Oracle Transportation Management

  1. Upon loading locations with dock doors, you need to create calendar(s) in Oracle Transportation Management to associate with the Location Resources. A calendar is necessary to define valid time windows during which appointments may be scheduled.
    1. The calendar can apply to all resources for a given location or can be location resource
      (dock door) specific.
    2. Valid Activities for the calendar are LOAD and RECEIVE.
    3. If the Dock Door is no longer active, a new calendar with no working hours should be created and associated with the Dock Door.
  2. An agent must be configured to listen for appointment changes in order to trigger the Planned Shipment out of Oracle Transportation Management. (Business Process Automation > Agents and Milestones > Automation Agent)
    1. Events
      • SHIPMENT - APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED
      • SHIPMENT - APPOINTMENT REMOVED
    2. Actions
      • SEND INTEGRATION; SERVICE; Specify the External System
      • This agent can be configured to send the PlannedShipmentXML to the previously defined External System that is used to create the trip in EBS (Instructions of how to define this External System are available in Oracle Transportation Management Help > How To > EBS to Oracle Transportation Management > Setting Up an External System for EBS Integration).

EBS APS Overview

The EBS APS product manages the supply chain planning. Oracle Transportation Management sends an updated Order Release to EBS APS anytime the Latest Estimated Delivery Date is populated or changes. EBS APS can then reflect the new arrival date and adjust the supply chain plan appropriately for Purchase Orders and Internal Sales Orders. The Latest Estimated Delivery Date field was added in 5.5 CU4 and stores the latest date of all of the shipments on which the Order Release resides. This integration is available with EBS APS 12.1.

Setup for EBS APS in Oracle Transportation Management

  1. Property
    1. Set the following property to false. The default is true: glog.workflow.topic.OrderLatestEstDeliveryDateSync.suppresslifetime=false
  2. External System
    1. Create a new external system for this flow out of Oracle Transportation Management since this represents a new BPEL flow
    2. Business Process Automation > Communication Management > External System. Must have MAX Out XML Profile defined for the ReleaseXML
  3. Parameter Set
    1. You must define a Parameter Set to have the Latest Estimated Delivery Date changed on the Order Release anytime a shipment is created or modified. (Transportation Planning & Execution > Power Data > Planning > Parameter Set)
    2. Create a new Parameter Set or set the following Parameter in a previously created Parameter Set
    3. Scroll down to Order Management, set the RECALC ORDER LATEST EST DELIVERY DATES parameter to TRUE (from its default of FALSE)
    4. Associate this Parameter Set with your Domain
    5. Configuration & Administration > Domain Management > Domain Settings
  4. Agent
    1. Must define an agent to listen for this field to change on the Order Release.
    2. Go to Business Process Automation > Agents and Milestones > Automation Agent
    3. Create New, enter an Agent ID similar to OR_UPDATE_SEND_TO_APS
      • Agent Type = Order Release
      • Agent Event = ORDER - LATEST EST DELIVERY DATE CHANGE: INTERNAL, USER or INTEGRATION
      • Agent Action = SEND INTEGRATION: Your Previously Created External System
