Login Fails After Changing The 'GUEST' Password To Either Mixed / Lowercase In R12 (Doc ID 602425.1)

On a 12.0.3 instance, after changing the password for the GUEST user to either mixed/lowercase and successfully running Autoconfig when attempting to log into Applications the following error occurs.


500 Internal Server Error
oracle.apps.fnd.cache.CacheException at oracle.apps.fnd.cache.AppsCache.get(
at oracle.apps.fnd.profiles.Profiles.getProfileOption( at
oracle.apps.fnd.profiles.Profiles.getProfile( at
) at oracle.apps.fnd.profiles.ExtendedProfileStore.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Install R12
  2. Apply 12.0.3 maintenance patch
  3. Change the Profile "Signon Password Case" value to be 'Sensitive.'
  4. Change the password for user "GUEST" to mixed/lowercase following <Note 443353.1>
  5. Run Autoconfig
  6. Try to Log into Apps
