Inbound Email Notifications not Processed; java.lang.OutOfMemoryError (Doc ID 602805.1)

Symptoms

After responding to an email notification,  the workflow is not processed. The response email is sitting in the IMAP Inbox untouched.  Approvals are working fine from within the application.  Only email responses fail to work. 

 

The FNDCPG*.txt file shows this error:
