More Information Requested Notification Allows Requester to Approve (Doc ID 726696.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Purchasing - Version 11.5.10 and later
Oracle iProcurement - Version 11.5.10 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When a Request for Information is done on a Requisition approval and the requester chooses 'Answer Question' if the Requester goes back to the original worklist browser notification with the subject 'More Information Requested' he/she can Approve the requisition, even though they do not have proper authority. Additionally the action history shows the document was approved by the Approver not the Requestor.

The requester is a workflow administrator.

+ Requester A creates a requisition and sends it for approval.
+ The Approver B requests more information to the Requester (A).
+ Requester opens the notification for the first time, he is responding to the notification with the answer.
+ Requester opens the notification a second time and approves the requisition

The same issue can be observed when the user chose "notification from me" in the worklist.  If the Workflow System Administrator is set to "*" then the user can approve their own documents from the notification from me.

This means notification a user has sent to their supervisor to approve, can be approved by themselves.
