WEBADI R12: In Web ADI Integrators the Formulas are Considered as Text and do not Work (Doc ID 740822.1)

Last updated on APRIL 04, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator - Version 12.0.3 and later
Oracle General Ledger - Version 12.0.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Web ADI, formula

Symptoms

When attempting to use formulas on the Web ADI layout it was found that formulas
are not generating the expected results. The result is formatted as text so that actually the formula is not evaluated in Excel.

That replicates for any Web ADI integrator.

e.g.
A formula is created to populate the value of the 'Journal Name' field as the result of 'Journal Description' and 'Journal Category'. When the journal is created 'Journal Name' field is formatted as text so the formula is not evaluated in Excel.

Create Layout for General Ledger - Journals =  Functional Actuals - Single with:

Journal Name on Header1
Default value = $[Journal Description] &' ' &$[Category]
Default type = Formula

Create Document with:
Source = Spreadsheet
Category = Other

Result : Journal Name: =$GL_INTERFACE_REFERENCE5 &' ' &$
GL_INTERFACE_USER_JE_CATEGORY_NAME
