How Does One Update a Sales Order Based On Changes Made To Configurations? (Doc ID 742213.1)

There is a requirement to modify an existing configuration via the CIO API's. Updating the configuration is successful (CZ schema data), but it is desired to push the changes back into the Sales Order from which the  configuration came (ONT Schema Data). Is there an API that will update an order based on configuration data?
