In both Releases 12.0 and 12.1, you are operating a process whereby you do not open the current period until it has already been running for a few days, (for example to make sure that users do not mistakenly enter data for the old period into the new period and vice versa)
You find that you are able to create and release a batch in the previous period, however when you drill into the Transact Materials form (GMETTMTX.fmb), the form will not open up due to the current date not being in an open period, and shows this message:
Expect that you should be able to transact material for a previous date even if current system date is not in an open inventory period.
