The Involved Party Gets No Message Notification Of A Tender Response (Doc ID 744180.1)

The following help text is available in the online help for the section 'Involved Parties'. I'm quoting the same here:

"Tender Shipments to Service Providers
If you want service providers to receive notifications when a shipment is tendered, you must enter a contact for the planner on the order and choose the LOGISTICS Involved Party Qualifier. You must also define a primary contact for the service provider.

If you choose email as the primary communication method for the LOGISTICS planner and the service provider, you must ensure that both contacts have valid email addresses.

When a service provider responds to a tender, the planner contact is also notified of the response."

This last sentence might make users believe, the notification is being sent automatically, but this is not the case. In other areas of the help, such as the section Tender a Shipment help text, the following line is seen:

"You can have OTM send notification to involved parties when a shipment is tendered"

This is much closer to the truth, because by design, the code does NOT automatically send a notification. This has to be configured in Contact Notification.
