GLPPOS Posting Journal Gives "Error21: Unable to Determine Missing Conversion Rate to Replicate Journal" If Primary and Secondary Ledgers Have Same Currency (Doc ID 744677.1)

Last updated on MARCH 11, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 12.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
EXECUTABLE:GLPPOS - Posting

Symptoms

Entered a Journal in the Primary Ledger to be posted in Secondary Ledger and it gets ERROR21.

The Posting Validation Report shows for this batch and journal the error:

- Missing conversion rate to replicate journal.

Both Ledgers have the same base currency, so a rate conversion does not seem to be required.

The same error also occurs for Reporting Ledgers (Conversion Level = Journal).
When a Reporting Ledger is defined and Daily Rate is not defined/missing for the date specified in the CURRENCY_CONVERSION_DATE field on the Journal header, then the system is unable to replicate Journal lines to the Reporting Currency Ledger. Even if the Journal has a zero amount DR/CR, the system still needs Daily Rates to replicate the Journal when posting.
