According to the General Ledger User's Guide, Release 12 (p.1-26, 1-27), the format for the journal approval notification should display the journal amount $ when a request is submitted to the approver but the notification received does not include that information.
page 1-26, 1-27:
To review and approve or reject a journal batch:
1. Check your notifications. Journal approval requests display the following in the
Subject field of the Notifications Summary window:
A journal batch for requires your approval.
2. Open the notification that requests your approval.
Tip: The journal approval notification you receive includes the
batch name, total batch amount, ledger currency, preparer's
name, monitor URL, and preparer's comments. Use this
information to query the journal batch.
According to that information the notification should include the journal amount, but it is not the case. The following is seen instead:
- Email subject: Action required: Journal batch requires your approval.
- The body of the email also has the Batch Name and the User who submitted it but it does not show the amount.
