While 'Update Standard Costs' is running, statistic information is being changed and updated by the below code inside the program all the time.

Run-Time execution plan might be changed according to statistic information of CST_LISTS_TEMP table that is generated during Run-Time.  When things come to the worst, the program executes with MERGE JOIN (CARTESIAN) execution plan.

It causes performance issue and slow response time.

Therefore, the customer asks to change the program for the better using, for example, SQL Hint instead of MERGE JOIN (CARTESIAN).

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
