Prior to the release of Oracle Transportation Management Release 5.5 CU4 RU5 and Release 5.5 CU5 RU2, the OTM reports were using WE8ISO8859P1 character set, which is guided by the NLS_LANG environment variable. This character supports limited single byte languages, that use the ISO-1859-15 encoding and Western European character set.
In order to provide complete multi-language support for all the languages including the double byte languages of East-Asian countries such as Japanese, Chinese, Korean and the Cyrillic characters for Russian, Oracle Transportation Management 5.5 is now supporting global character set UTF-8.
Also in order to provide complete multi-language support, Oracle Transportation Management Release 5.5 now uses Arial Unicode MS (ARIALUNI.TTF) font.
If you are on Release 5.5 CU5 RU2 (or higher) or Release 5.5 CU4 RU5 (or higher), and want the support for Multi-language (apart from single-byte languages), you should make the following changes on your Oracle report server environment:
