R12: 'Update In Configurator' Button Displayed To Users Who Don't Have Permission (Doc ID 755282.1)

Last updated on MAY 18, 2020

Oracle Installed Base - Version 12.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Q1: We are using Oracle Installed Base User responsibility in 11.5.9 and we want to continue the same responsibility in R12. Using Oracle Installed Base Agent User responsibility will require retraining the users which we have not scheduled. Is the Oracle Installed Base User responsibility not supported in R12? If user finds problems in the jsp pages will Development be providing fixes for it?

Q2: We are upgrading from 11.5.9 to R12 and setting up Install Base so that users cannot have access to the 'Update In Configurator' button. As in 11.5.9 the permission called 'CSI_INST_CONFIG_UPDATE' was removed from the CSI_NORMAL_USER role but when the user navigates to the 'Product Configuration' page the button is still displayed.

Navigation Path: Oracle Installed Base User --> Oracle Installed Base

1. Search for any product.
2. Click the icon under 'View Configuration' column in result section. 'Product Configuration' page is displayed.
3. In 'Product Configuration' page the 'Update In Configurator' button is displayed even though the logged in user doesn't have the 'CSI_INST_CONFIG_UPDATE' security permission.
