XML Output Not Published When Concurrent Program is Part of a Request Set

Symptoms
A concurrent program based on XML Publisher does not produce the expected report if being executed as part of a request set. A review of the Completion Options of such request shows that no layout template is associated to the program and after completing, the XML data is produced and can be viewed via View Requests, click on Diagnostics and finally, cllick on View XML.
Running the same XML Publisher report as individual concurrent request does work properly.
