ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: Expected DATE got NUMBER - While Saving SR (Doc ID 758728.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to create/save a service request, the following error occurs:
'IEU_WR_PUB.CREATE_WR_ITEM reports error. A required parameter may be nul;l; PRIORITY_CODE' 
' ORA-OO932: inconsistent datatypes Expected DATE got NUMBER'

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Customer Support-->Create Service request-->After filling all the required details at header
level > Click on workbench enter required field > trying to save the at any stage generates
error messages:
1. IEU_WR_PUB.CREATE_WR_ITEM reports error. A required parameter may be nul;l; PRIORITY_CODE
2. ORA-OO932: inconsistent datatypes Expected DATE got NUMBER

Even though messages pop up, the service request is saved.
