Oracle HRMS Multi-Tenant Functionality - An Oracle White Paper (Doc ID 760500.1)

Last updated on JULY 26, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Human Resources - Version 12.1.1 to 12.1 HRMS RUP7 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

The HRMS Multi-tenant functionality enables service providers to support multiple tenants (Enterprises) on a single software instance. This functionality uses the built-in security policy and infrastructure of Oracle Label Security (OLS) and existing HRMS Security mechanism to secure and manage data of multiple tenants.

Service providers can manage business functions of multiple tenants on a single instance using the "Multiple Business Groups within an Enterprise" configuration model of the multi-tenant functionality.

Note: After you enable the multi-tenant functionality including setting up Oracle Label Security in a production environment, you cannot rollback the entire setup. Enabling security groups and multi-tenancy feature in a production environment is an irreversible process. Multi-tenancy created OLS policies apply to a number of tables in HCM. Reverting the changes performed as a part of enabling Security Group and Multi tenancy is a custom effort and Oracle Development does not support custom changes. Therefore, it is recommended that thorough testing be done before deploying to production. See: Remove Multi-Tenancy Functionality note <1339089.1> on My Oracle Support.

Scope

This document is intended for support teams, functional consultants, and implementers.

Note: The HRMS Multi-tenant functionality is not enabled for use in Release 12.2 forward.  Please do not manually enable for 12.2 forward
