FORM:INVTTESR.FMB - Enter Serial Numbers
Goal
REMEMBER! Customizations and personalizations are NOT supported by Oracle Support but to give you an idea on how this might be done, we are sharing an example with you below.
How can one fix serial numbers that are locked from user (marked) without having a technical person run a SQL datafix to fix them?
Background A mark is the application's way of saying a serial number is locked or reserved by another process already. Sometimes a process will end without releasing that lock and the serial number remains marked. There is no way in the Oracle Applications currently to unmark the serial numbers.
Steps: Current (This is just an example navigation as serial numbers are seen in many modules) Navigate to Inventory > Transactions > Miscellaneous Transactions Try to perform a miscellaneous issue for an item Can see the item and onhand quantity but find no serials available to select.
Navigate to Inventory > Onhand > Serial Numbers Query the serial numbers. See a list of serial numbers but there is no way to see the serial number is marked, or to unmark them.
Business Notes Right now, users must request the technical team to run the script to fix data. If the script was integrated into the Oracle Applications, it could be run directly by users.
