After RUP 6, get message "Value for the flexfield segment Intercompany does not exist in the value set" (Doc ID 762461.1)

Symptoms

Default values are not getting populated in application forms and results in an error message.

 For example, the default value in Intercompany value set is not visible in Accounts Receivables.  The value is accessible from Accounts Payables and General Ledger, but not from Accounts Receivables. 

Also when using Key Flexfield structures with the same value set assigned to multiple segments, e.g. a chart of accounts with company and intercompany segments sharing the same value set, you may encounter the same error
The error message is of the format shown below and can be seen in various subledgers like  Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Inventory, Cost Management.


"Value 00 for the flexfield segment Intercompany does not exist in the value set <VALUE SET NAME>."
