Least Cost Itinerary Option is Not Being Selected
(Doc ID 780398.1)
Last updated on AUGUST 01, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Transportation Operational Planning - Version: 5.5 to 5.5This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
-- Problem Statement:Multistop Itineraries are defined with the "Multi-Stop Itinerary" flag checked. These itineraries have overlapping geographies and therefore are applicable to a single order's planning. These multiple itineraries exist since they represent different Cross-Dock Options. In the HELP documentation, under the topic "How to Configure Cross-Docks and Pools" the following is defined:
"Parameters Multi-stop Itinerary This check box must be marked."
When an order is planned, it is found that the itinerary selected incurs a larger cost than the other itinerary would have. It is expected that the cheaper cost itinerary be used for the planning of the order release.
-- Steps To Reproduce:
1. Define 2 or more itineraries where the "Multi-Stop Itinerary" flag is checked.
2. Configure these itineraries to use different Cross-Dock locations (as defined on the itinerary leg)
3. Create an order that matches these itineraries
4. Bulk plan the order release to plan the order into shipments.
It is found that the itinerary selected incurs more cost than other itinerary options.
