Unable To Save Items In The Item Master Form INVIDITM, APP-FND-01934

Find users are unable to save newly created item after applying template. No error OR warning messages. Items created without templates are saved. When trying to apply the template to an already saved item, the following error is displayed:
APP-FND-01934: UNEXP_ERROR : ORA-01407: cannot update ("INV"."MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B"."INVENTORY_ITEM_FLAG") to NULL in Package INV_ITEM_PVT Procedure Update_Org_Items
Steps To Reproduce:
1. Inventory->Items-> Master Items
2. Create Item > Apply Template > Save.
