11i: After Upgrading, Descriptive Flexfields Throw Errors: APP-FND-00654, APP-FND-00704 or APP-FND-00994 (Doc ID 791100.1)

Symptoms

Upgraded from 11.0.3 to 11.5.10.

When attempting to use a new descriptive flexfield define, or recompile/freeze the flexfield, the following errors occur:

 

ERROR:

APP-FND-00654: FDFBDF: GLOBAL_ATTRIBUTE1 has not been assigned as a descriptive flexfield column
The flexfield compiler has detected that an unrecognized application column is being assigned to a flexfield segment. Please check the FND_COLUMNS table for data integrity problems.
APP-FND-00704: Program error. Please inform your support representative that the descriptive flexfield GL_JE_LINES in the application 101 could not be found.

Attempting to freeze the flexfield:

APP-FND-00994: Flexfields could not freeze flexfield data because of an error.
Determine the cause of the error.Once you resolve it, you can recompile your flexfield. A likely problem is incomplete segment information.
