Activity Cause, Activity Source, Activity Type, Shutdown Type Not Defaulted for Newly Created PM Work Orders (Doc ID 793802.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 10, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Enterprise Asset Management - Version 12.0.0 to 12.0.6 [Release 12]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When creating a work order from preventive maintenance, the work order defaults values from the activity (Activity Cause, Activity Source, Activity Type, Shutdown Type) is populated from the Activity - Asset Group Association, and not from the Activity - Asset Number Association.

Expect the system should at least pick the data from the lowest level (i.e) asset number / activity association.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Enterprise Asset Management=>Asset Number> Create an Asset Number
2. Activity Button=> Associate an activity and specify the WO defaults Activity Cause, Activity Source, Activity Type, Shutdown Type.
3. Enterprise Asset Management=>Preventive Maintenance => Schedule Definition > Create a PM schedule for the asset activity combination.
4. Run the Generate Work Orders report for the asset.
The work orders generated do not have the WO defaults.
