The requirement is for a discount to apply to option item B, only when option item A is ordered within the same model.

There is a limitation in trying to achieve this using the modifier line type of Other Item Discount(OID). This is because currently the system supports the Other Item Discount to see within the entire order and not within the options of a specific ATO model. The requirement to achieve this with an OID modifier is an Enhancement Request (ER) as described in <Note 369972.1>, logged in ER <bug 2944106>.

To explain this, if you set up an OID modifier, such that you get item B (the get item) for free when item A is ordered, the following is what happens:

Line 1.1  ATO Model A
|--Line 1.1.1   item A
|--Line 1.1.2   item B -- free

Line 2.1  item B (by itself) -- free

The intention here is for item B to be free only in line 1.1.2. We will examine two possible workarounds, but demonstrate that only the second workaround meets the requirement. A familiarity with the creation of custom attributes, and sourcing using custom pl/sql api functions is needed.
