ORA-29275: Partial Multibyte Character Querying IBY_EXT_BANK_ACCOUNTS (Doc ID 806024.1)

When querying table IBY_EXT_BANK_ACCOUNTS_V from an SQL environment , the query does not retrieve any data is and is receiving an error ORA-29275: partial multibyte character.

This view is created using multiple tables all allowing the viewing of their data accept for IBY_EXT_BANK_ACCOUNTS which is generating the same error. It was found that the error is thrown when trying to query the following fields from table IBY_EXT_BANK_ACCOUNTS:

bank_account_num_hash1,
bank_account_num_hash2,
iban_hash1,
iban_hash2

This problem doesn’t seem to be affecting the application, only the querying of data in AR_CASH_RECEIPTS_V.


Question: why does this error occur when the above table is queried from an SQL environment?
Will the application be affected by this behavior?
