Absence Details Erases Duration On Save

This problem can occur on any platform.
When applying for absences through base HR (absence type not attached to accrual plan) the Duration erases and completes the save the first time. When Duration is re-entered and the record saved again then the Duration is actually saved.
Note that the same issue does not happen if the absence type is attached to an accrual plan.
Expect the absence duration to save the 1st time.
-- Steps To Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Select Absence from taskflow (form PERWSEAD) > Select Employee
2. Select Absence Type, record absence dates & manually enter duration. Save.
System sets duration value to NULL and saves the rest of the absence details.
3. Re-set duration value and save again.
