While upgrading to R12.1.1, Oracle Configuration Manager(referred OCM henceforth in this document) is required to be upgraded to 10.2.7 or higher.  Oracle Configuration Manager is used to collect client E-Business Suite configuration information and upload it to the Oracle repository.  The configuration data is uploaded on a regular bases.  This will benefit customers with better service and faster problem resolution because support representatives can analyze this data and solve problems accordingly.

OCM 10.2.7 and higher provide native integration with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.  Till OCM 10.2.6, Rapid Install/Rapid Clone and/or Autoconfig tools were used for installing and configuring OCM. But from 10.2.7 or higher, it is not mandatory to use AutoConfig and/or Rapid Install/Rapid Clone to install/configure OCM.  The OCM can be installed by downloading the latest patch and manually installing it in each Oracle Homes viz. Database Home, 10.1.2 and 10.1.3.  But before installing the latest version of OCM, you need to uninstall and cleanup OCM (10.2.4/10.2.6) configured in 12.0.x environments.

This document is not replacement of <Note.727157.1> Upgrading Oracle Configuration Manager (OCM) within E-Business Suite Release 12.0.  But it provides detailed steps to uninstall OCM 10.2.6 or lower and install OCM 10.2.7.
