How To Create a Concurrent Program to Synchronize (Refresh) the iStore InterMedia Search Index of the Search Table (Doc ID 828892.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 24, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle iStore - Version 11.5.10.0 to 12.1.3 [Release 11.5.10 to 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When using the iStore Search feature, first and only once, it is necessary to run the "iStore Search Insert" which will populate the Search table, but if any item is created, updated, or deleted, the Search table will be updated with the help of some triggers, but not the InterMedia index which is used to search for those items. The iStore documentation states that it is necessary to run the following command to synchronize this index:

EXEC ctx_ddl.sync_index('IBE_CT_IMEDIA_SEARCH_IM');

The problem with this is that is not user friendly, but it is possible to change this by creating a concurrent program to run that command.
