FRM-40200 Error when Attempting To Uncheck the Freeze Flexfield Definition,

This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
On 11.5.10.2 in Production:When attempting to uncheck the Freeze Flexfield Definition,
the following error occurs.
ERROR
FRM-40200 Field is protected against update.
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
I login as System Administrator
Select Application > Flexfield > Descriptive Segments >
F11 to Query Mode
Select Human Resources Application > Additional Address Details for Title
Ctl-F11
Try to uncheck the Freeze Flexfield Definition
