R12: In Web ADI Worksheet, Protect Sheet Feature Gets Re-Enabled After Entering Accounting Date

It appears that entering an Accounting Date (required field for entering journal entries), enabled in the Journal Batch Information section of the WebADI format, is causing protection on the Excel sheet to be reenabled.
This is the observed behaviour:
1. It appears consistently that when the WebADI worksheet is created, protection is disabled. User is able to add new rows to the spreadsheet.
2. Immediately after an accounting date is chosen, protection is enabled in Excel. User is no longer able to add new rows.
3. User can go into Excel and turn off protection (Tools > Protection > Unprotect Sheet). At
this point user can once again add new rows to the spreadsheet.
4. Then, if user goes back and adds/changes an accounting date (even after manually Unprotecting the
Sheet in Excel), protection is once again enabled in Excel. Again, user is no longer able to add new
