How To Cleanup Invalid Oracle iSetup (AZ) Tables And Recreate (Doc ID 832459.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 29, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle iSetup - Version 11.5.10.0 to 12.2 [Release 11.5.10 to 12.2Cloud]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

There are often some unwelcome situations, where iSetup tables which are having column of data-type "SYS.XMLTYPE", become Invalid. Some of the possible examples are:

PLS-00905: object AZ.AZ_<xXxXx> is invalid

Where, "AZ_<xXxXx>" include mainly 3 tables owned by AZ schema:

  1. AZ.AZ_REQUESTS
  2. AZ.AZ_REPORTER_DATA
  3. AZ.AZ_DIFF_RESULTS

As a result, iSetup Requests fail with:

ORA-31000: Resource 'http://isetup.oracle.com/2006/selectionsets.xsd' is not an XDB schema document
ORA-06512: at "SYS.XMLTYPE", line 214
ORA-06512: at line 1

This is a scenario, where all the previous iSetup Requests and iSetup Reports become non-recoverable. But there is a workaround to recreate those tables and reuse iSetup.
