Goal

How to quickly and effectively setup E-Business Suite (EBS), Vpasta and Pasta in a Unicode (UTF8 / AL32UTF8) character set environment in order to successfully generate, view, and print standard Oracle seeded reports under Bi-directional (BiDi) languages, such as the Arabic or Hebrew languages.

Support to generate, view, and print BiDi language reports within EBS requires the setup of environment variables, profiles, viewer options, Pasta printing configuration files and drivers.

In EBS, only two report output formats are supported with BiDi languages: Text (Character Mode) and Postscript with Font embedding (IX Library). In order to generate reports in the PDF format, the BI Publisher product will need to be installed, configured, and a custom template created. Customizing seeded reports with the BI Publisher product is beyond the scope of this document.
