Goal

How can one secure Attachment Functions without using $PROFILE$?

Have tried to create a condition on which users accessing a form can have access to attach documents to the form using $PROFILE$.RESP_ID as the field used to set the condition for querying documents attached, but every time, the following error message is produced:

FND-40105: Unable to resolve reference to item $PROFILE$.<my profile name>

You cannot reference profile option values directly for setting conditions upon which the attachment screen will pop up, so one valid option is to set a global variable through Forms Personalization in the form to which you want to do attachments and use that variable when setting up Attachment Functions. Below you will find an example on how to set the global variable and use it when setting privileges for doing attachments.

# This note assumes you are familiar with the process for defining Attachment Functions
