Service: Why Is "Planned End Date" Mandatory For Tasks When "Planned Start Date" is Entered (Doc ID 862325.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 02, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Teleservice - Version 12.0 to 12.1.3 [Release 12 to 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
CSXSRISR.fmb - Create Service Requests
CSXSRTSK.fmb
CSSRTSK.pld

Goal

When a Task Type did not have the rule DISPATCH assigned (i.e. it is not a Field Service task), then it was possible to enter the Planned Start Date and leave the Planned End Date blank.

In Release 12 that is no longer possible.
When Planned Start Date is populated, the Planned End Date will be required too.

If left blank, a popup message will come up:
"Please enter both the start date and the end date."

Why this change in behavior?
