Symptoms

When converting the quote (that contains a newly defined 'Order Type' ) into a Sales Order an error is returned.

 
Error

ORA-20001: APP-FND-01728: An assignment does not exist for these parameters.
Cause: An attempt was made to find a sequence for this document flexfield. The profile option says Sequential Numbering is only partially used.
Action: None
There is an error in order submission.

Steps to Reproduce

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

Setup: Document Sequencing is switched on for Oracle Order Management. Sequencing is based on 'Order Type'.

  1. Create a quote with a newly defined Order Type
  2. Submit the Quote to create a Sales Order
  3. Error is returned
  4. ORA-20001: APP-FND-01728: An assignment does not exist for these parameter
