Information in this document applies to any platform.
This problem can occur on any platform.
FADEPR

Symptoms

After performing a backdated addition of an asset using a bonus rule, the impairment_amount column in fa_deprn_summary and fa_deprn_detail is being updated although no impairment transactions were performed.  The problem may be found after noticing an imbalance in one of the detail reports, or by noticing that the bonus depreciation numbers are incorrect.

The affected assets may be identified by using something like the following:

SELECT fds,ASSET_ID, fds.IMPAIRMENT_AMOUNT
FROM FA_DEPRN_SUMMARY fds, FA_TRANSACTION_HEADERS fth
WHERE fds.IMPAIRMENT_AMOUNT != 0
AND fds.DEPRN_SOURCE_CODE = 'DEPRN'
AND fth.TRANSACTION_TYPE_CODE NOT LIKE 'IMPAIR%'
AND fth.BOOK_TYPE_CODE = '&BOOK_TYPE_CODE'
AND fth.BOOK_TYPE_CODE = fds.BOOK_TYPE_CODE
AND fth.asset_id = fds.asset_id;
