Last updated on AUGUST 15, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Order Management - Version 11.5.10.0 to 11.5.10.3 [Release 11.5.10]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
If a user ships an incomplete order with a large number of decimal places (greater than 9) and
the line splits, it creates an order quantity that also has a large number of decimals. When the
user tries to override the quantity or cancel the line,
the following error occurs.
ERROR
The number of decimals exceeds the maximum precision (9 decimals). Please correct the value so
that it contains no more than 9 decimals
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
To create order with many decimal places:
Find order with status "Awaiting Shipping"
Partially allocate order with many decimal places (ex order qty=100, allocate 40.12345678912345)
Ship confirm order
When ship confirm partial order, line is split
Re-enter order and go to split line
Line 1.2 quantity is 59.8765432107655
This has more than 9 decimal places so try to delete excess decimal places and save but error pops
up.
Cannot change any part of order quantity or order UOM or cancel line without the error occurring.
Will not let user proceed.
