Re-Subscribing Through Marketing Email Deletes The Telesales Contact Restriction Record Instead Of End-Dating It (Doc ID 871883.1)

Last updated on JULY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Marketing - Version 11.5.10.0 to 11.5.10.3 [Release 11.5]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Marketing email campaign generates an email. When the customer un-subscribes using the email link and clicking on the un-subscribe link, it creates the restriction record correctly in TCA restriction table. If the customer then wants to re-subscribe and unchecks the un-subscribe link in the email the API deletes the record altogether instead of putting the end date and time to the restriction record.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Create Email Marketing Campaign
    • (R) Marketing User
    • (N) Campaign Dashboard
    • Create Email Marketing Campaign
  2. Un-Subscribe from the Email
    • Customer has the option to un-subscribe from the email, click the un-subscribe link in the email
    • This creates a restriction record correctly recorded in the TCA HZ_CONTACT_RESTRICTIONS table.
  3. Check restriction record in Telesales
    • (R) Telesales Agent
    • (N) eBusiness Center > Person > Restriction
    • A new record is created with type=e-mail and start_date recorded
  4. Re-Subscribe to the Email
    • Use the same email and re-subscribe by unchecking the email un-subscribe link
  5. Check restriction record in Telesales
    • (R) Telesales Agent
    • (N) eBusiness Center > Person > Restriction
    • The restriction record is deleted rather than an end date being entered
  6. The API deletes the record created at point 3, instead of putting the end date and time to the restriction record. Therefore no history is created for this interaction.
